A table of which only 4 copies exist is already something special, and when each one is numbered and personally signed by Ettore Barabino of PLP, it’s clear you’re entering a whole new level of craftsmanship and design.
The making of the table itself is quite artisanal: cut using the most advanced technologies, it is then assembled by hand while the pressing phase is done using moderate heat.
Phenix is a fast and precise directional board for freeriding and super accurate for those who love extreme carves (we enjoyed both and it was epic).
This is due to the broader nose shape compared to the tail, which ensures better buoyancy, while the progressive taper allows for quick exits from turns.
The standout feature of the board, however, is the tail – the innovative Modular Tail designed by PLP: the outer tails are longer and have a softer flex, while the central sections are shorter and stiffer, providing exceptional float and responsiveness, allowing for a smoother transition between turns. The camber… Plus, the rearward position ensures a smooth ride even in deep snow, allowing for optimal weight distribution, while the reinforcements at both the tip and tail are made from a lightweight alloy.
