a real gem

The Brachyura 175 is a high-performance snowboard, a gorgeous piece.
Thanks to its effective edge, which is shorter than that of a traditional board of the same length, this board excels in maneuverability, comparable to boards that are 20 cm shorter.

Brachyura offers exceptional buoyancy at both high and low speeds, providing a unique experience similar to surfing.

This is made possible by its distinctive shape, featuring a large front rocker and a low camber between the feet. The Brachyura 175 represents the modern evolution of the prototypes created in previous years. It’s designed to take advantage of an effective edge of 1006 mm on the slope, while in powder snow, it utilizes a wide surface thanks to the narrower crab-claw tail.

This snowboard is designed to deliver outstanding performance both in extreme carving on the slopes and in floating on fresh powder.

The tail of the board is inspired by a crab’s claw and is narrower, which means it doesn’t touch the snow while carving on the slopes. However, when tackling fresh snow, the tail shape provides more length than the actual edge, helping with floatation and directionality of the snowboard. The Brachyura 175’s 9.2-meter sidecut radius allows for precise on-piste riding and excellent edge hold during extreme carving.

The first prototype measures 220 cm, with a nose that’s 40 cm wide, no edges, and a bottom made entirely of Okoume, an African wood used for boats. Later on, thanks to the collaboration with the guys at COMERALAB, the BRACHYURA 175 was born—a true gem designed by a creative mind (that’s me), optimized in its shapes by engineer Pietro Marzorati, and built by his diligent partner Davide Bernasconi. So far, only 2 boards have been made; the first one was ridden by me and our Team WE ARE PLP crew, and the second one is the one for sale on this page.
